Figurative Scenes
We are part of the natural landscape and I have always loved nature.
Having grown up in the country, my first very early experiences of sketching & painting was out in plein air, capturing the scene in front of me - the hills, mountains, fields and trees.
A fascination and love of pattern was formed back then as I discovered the beautiful colors of the bark of gum trees.
Our interaction with our landscape interests me now, whether we are walking, riding, playing, exploring, taming or simply enjoying being part of it.

Urban environments
I have also been exploring light and scenes in a more suburban environment.
I love the colors of the trams and trains, the people & the movement that is created and the scene overall.
Walking around and exploring the city or wandering local towns for inspiration has become a habit as I try to catch the interesting characters and actions of the inhabitants.
